Owned and operated by Nate, Terri Jo and Jackson Wald, Rawhide Quarter Horses is the culmination of a lifetime spent breeding, training and using the best stock we can produce. Our horses are not trained in a catch pen, our horses are real working ranch horses that have all earned their living riding big open country on our family cattle ranch here in Lodgegrass, Montana.
The emphasis for us has always been: sound mind, sound feet, sound body and even temperament when breeding working ranch stock horses. Our horses are bred for bone and size and are ready to work. Roping large stock can be hazardous when you don't have enough horse under you, at Rawhide Quarter Horses, we know how important it is to have confidence that your horse can get the job done because we use those same horses to work our own cattle everyday.
Versatility is the nature of ranch work. 
Our horses never do the same job in exactly the same way as last time, we breed thinking animals that like to work and are not afraid to take on what's asked of them. Our training philosophies are centered on the the methods taught by legendary horsemen such as Ray Hunt, Bill and Tom Dorrance, Buck Brannamen and Joe Wolter. We are always seeking to refine and expand our communication with our horses in order to create a more effective and efficient partnership.
The centerpiece of our breeding program is our stud, Stylish Tip, he's an own son of Playin' Stylish, who was the 1999 NCHA horse of the year. The cornerstone of our program is our brood mare band consisting of high quality, foundation bred quarter horses from solid bloodlines. We are currently riding and using our first foal crop from Stylish Tip and we're very excited about how smoothly these horses are going- they're everything we'd hoped they would be.
